This group is for people aged 14 to 19. On turning fourteen surf lifesavers do their surf life saving certificate and are able to participate in patrols. This age group are able to take a more active role in the protection of the public, so that our beaches remain safe for all.
When cadets turn fourteen they can complete the surf rescue certificate. This award teaches basic first aid, resuscitation and surf rescue skills, it also enables members to become active members of patrols. On turning fifteen cadets are able to complete their bronze medallion. This award adds greatly to their knowledge of all areas in surf lifesaving.
Cadets are also encouraged to participate in any of the wide variety of events available. As well as being a great way to keep fit, the social side of competition is well worth it.
